In order to accelerate the green and low-carbon development of traditional manufacturing, green "+" has become a necessary condition for the transformation and development of manufacturing.

On August 1, 2022, three ministries and commissions of the State jointly issued the "Implementation Plan for Carbon Peaking in the Industrial Field", which clearly proposed "building a green and low-carbon product development and promotion mechanism, promoting green design of industrial products, and exploring product carbon footprint accounting in accordance with the requirements of full life cycle management."

Recently, the China Green Manufacturing Alliance established the China Green Manufacturing Alliance Carbon Labeling Special Committee (hereinafter referred to as the "Carbon Labeling Special Committee") and issued a unified carbon labeling logo. The Carbon Labeling Special Committee is committed to promoting the green and high-quality development of China's industrial products, promoting the unified construction of my country's product carbon labeling standards and specifications, creating a national product carbon labeling information database, creating a bridge for international and domestic cooperation and mutual recognition, and accelerating the construction of my country's product carbon labeling system.

Building a green supply chain ecosystem is the development task and core competitiveness of manufacturing enterprises. "Carbon label" is a kind of green production logo, which means that enterprises achieve a certain quantitative emission reduction through green production, and realize comprehensive low-carbon production from aspects such as green product life cycle management and manufacturing material substitution. Other green logos such as "carbon footprint" and "green certified enterprise" are all value manifestations of corporate energy conservation and emission reduction projects.

According to the work deployment of "Made in China 2025" on the construction of a green manufacturing system, we can clearly see that developing green products, creating green factories/parks, developing green enterprises, and building a green supply chain system are the key points of green manufacturing standardization construction. Among them:

Building a green manufacturing system means establishing and improving a green evaluation system and service management system based on "intelligent production, equipment automation, product digitization, and management informationization";

Green manufacturing technology means strengthening the promotion and application of energy-saving and environmental protection technologies, processes, and equipment under the premise of ensuring product functions, quality, and costs, and comprehensively promoting a modern manufacturing model of clean production;

Creating a green factory/park means making a factory or industrial park "intensive, harmless raw materials, clean production, waste resource utilization, and low-carbon energy" to achieve near-zero emissions;

Building a green supply chain means establishing green supply chain management standards such as procurement, production, supply, recycling, and logistics oriented towards resource conservation and environmental friendliness;

Developing green products means strengthening the research and development and application of green products, promoting lightweight, low-power, easy-to-recycle and other technical processes, and eliminating backward electromechanical products and technologies.

Guided by the "dual carbon" goal, we will focus on building a green industrial structure, improving the level of green manufacturing, accelerating the low-carbon transformation of the industry, deepening energy conservation in the industrial field, and promoting conservation and intensive utilization. We will actively build a low-carbon/zero-carbon manufacturing system through technological innovation, create "zero-carbon workshops" and "zero-carbon" modular solutions, etc.

We will comprehensively promote the green transformation of traditional manufacturing industries such as steel, nonferrous metals, chemicals, building materials, light industry, and printing and dyeing, vigorously develop and promote green process technology and equipment, accelerate the application of clean and efficient casting, forging, welding, surface treatment, cutting and other processing technologies, and scientifically and orderly promote the manufacturing industry towards greening, digitalization, and intelligence to achieve green production.
