Cleaning Heavy-duty Connector Operation
Tear off a small piece of fine sandpaper, about one inch wide and two inches long, and use it to sand or rub the pins of heavy duty wire connectors to remove discoloration from the metal of the wire connector heavy duty power connector. Alternatively, wrap a small piece of sandpaper around a pin and swirl the paper until a clean or shiny metal surface appears.
Brush the metal pins of heavy duty electric cable connectors with a toothbrush, or quickly spray electrical contact cleaner onto the metal pins of heavy duty automotive electrical connectors to remove dried dust or corrosion. If you don't have access to cleaner, you can clean the pins of heavy duty 12v connectors with vinegar, then brush the pins of heavy duty 12 volt connectors to remove any remaining debris. Spray a layer of contact lubricant. This will help prevent corrosion and increase the conductivity of 12v heavy duty connector.
