Cold-press Crimping Device Operation: Correct Insertion And Crimping Steps
Place the crimping pin tip into the die opening, ensuring it is level and not tilted. Before operation, confirm that the selected contact crimper connector matches the cable specification and terminal model.
Insert the stripped insulation end of the wire into the designated slot of the crimping pin terminal. Observe the inspection hole at the end of the terminal to determine if it is fully inserted. If you see the internal copper sheet or conductor exposed, the insertion depth is appropriate.
Using a dedicated crimping pliers—either manual ratchet type or hydraulic type—apply pressure slowly, aligning the pressure with the center of the terminal slot. This causes plastic deformation of the metal terminal and the wire, achieving mechanical fixation and conductive connection. Avoid tilting the terminal or misaligning the wire during crimping. After crimping, the quality of the crimping can be determined by the indentation and markings on the terminal's surface.
