Design Requirements For Heavy-duty Connectors Under Power Limitations
Design Requirements for heavy duty cable connectors
To improve power transmission capability, the heavy power connector needs to increase the current carrying capacity (i.e., rated current) of its single contact. Previously, in heavy duty wire connectors applications, limited by the rated current carrying capacity of the terminals, developers had to use multi-terminal shunting to enable the wire connector heavy duty to transmit large currents. However, this undoubtedly increased the size of the entire heavy duty electric cable connectors power interconnect system. In the trend of increasingly higher power and smaller form factors in electronic products, this is clearly difficult to meet design requirements.
Furthermore, many high-power applications, such as electric vehicle battery monitoring/management, power control systems, robot drivers, servo control, drones, and aerospace satellites, operate in extremely complex and harsh environments, often placing higher demands on the reliability of the heavy duty automotive electrical connectors. This makes the design of such heavy duty 12v connectors extremely demanding.
