In the electrical architecture of an energy storage system, the supporting structure of energy storage connector is directly related to the integration and connection stability of the entire power module. When establishing connections between modular battery cells and the cabinet bus, the support structure plays a crucial role in positioning, bearing weight, and guiding connections.

Support Structure Composition

The support structure can be divided into three parts: the overall frame, guide rails, and positioning guides:

  • Overall Frame: Fixed to the energy storage system bracket or battery enclosure, it supports the connector assembly and mechanically engages with other subsystems;

  • Guide Rails: Arranged longitudinally, they provide precise insertion channels for connector plugs;

  • Positioning Guides: These design constraints on the orientation of energy storage connector terminals, cable routing, and latch positions, improving assembly consistency and alignment accuracy.

These structures typically use high-strength metal or engineering plastic molded parts and are connected to the energy storage components through mechanical fastening or snap-fit ​​methods.

Subdivided Support Structure Design

The support structure can be further subdivided into the following core modules:

  • Positioning and Guiding Module: Equipped with a reference slot and limiting guide tongue, it guides the connector end face to accurately engage with the bus interface;

  • Locking/Release Unit: A locking mechanism (such as a spring lock) allows the battery storage connector device to lock quickly after insertion and can be triggered to release;

  • Stress Dispersing Components: Disperse mechanical loads during long-life cyclic insertion and removal, protecting elastic contacts and conductor components.

These designs are widely used in industrial-grade energy storage systems to support high-frequency, repeatable insertion and removal operations between the storage connector and various battery modules, forming a stable electrical and mechanical interface.
