How To Connect And Use Heavy-duty Connectors?
In the design process of heavy duty connector 16 pin, the rated current requirement is met through the thermal design of heavy duty connector 5 pin because the contacts heat up due to conductor and contact resistance when current flows through them.
When the heat generated by heavy duty connector 6 pin exceeds a certain limit, it will damage the insulation of heavy duty electrical contacts and soften the surface plating through the contacts, leading to failure.
To limit the rated current, the internal temperature rise of heavy duty industrial connector must not exceed the design specifications.
A point to note when selecting: For heavy duty male female connector, the rated current must be dated.
This is especially important under high current conditions, such as φ3.5mm contacts. Generally, the rated current of heavy duty multi pin connectors is 50A, but when using 5 cores, it needs to be dated by 33%, meaning the rated current per core is only 38A. The more cores, the greater the derating range.
