Mechanical Tensile Test Of Cold Press Needle Crimping Device
After completing the contact crimper crimping operation, a mechanical tensile test is necessary. This is to determine whether the crimping meets the specifications from a mechanical strength perspective.
d sub contact crimper After crimping, the terminal and wire connection should be allowed to stand for a period of time to eliminate internal stress. Then, using a dedicated tensile testing machine, apply a vertical tensile force until the terminal detaches from the wire. Record the maximum pull-out force value and compare it with the minimum pull-out force standard corresponding to the wire cross-sectional area and terminal specifications.
If the test results are below the standard requirements, then the crimping of contact crimping tool cannot be considered qualified. Low pull-out force usually indicates weak internal contact during crimping, which may cause the wire and terminal connection to loosen or detach. This is especially important for production batches; a number of samples should be randomly selected for tensile testing.
