In high circuit count applications, some heavy duty 2 pin connector series may have total mating forces as high as 50 lbs. The heavy duty connector 16 pin force may be considered excessive for some assembly operators or in applications where it is difficult to access the heavy duty connector 5 pin. In the second case, the heavy duty connector 6 pin high mating force may damage the board when mated with a header or heavy duty electrical contacts mounted on a PC board. In both cases, a "low force" terminal from the selected heavy duty industrial connector series or heavy duty male female connector series with lower mating force/circuit should be used.
