Currently, the design and application of heavy duty automotive electrical connectors can be used in various circuits ranging from simple to highly complex. Requirements such as component miniaturization, higher functional density, and lower production costs have led to a trend of replacing traditional through-hole (THT) technology with surface mount technology. This article mainly shares the process steps of surface mount technology for heavy duty 12v connectors!

In surface mount technology (SMT), 12v heavy duty connector is connected to the connection surface on the side of the housing or directly below the housing to establish contact. Unpackaged components can also be used, which are directly mounted on the PCB via wire connections or flip-chip technology.

However, some electromechanical components, such as heavy duty crimp connectors, are not available in SMD versions. Therefore, heavy duty waterproof electrical connectors is mounted on the PCB by applying the classic THT process after the actual SMT process itself.

The best solution to this challenge is heavy duty connector, developed for through-hole reflow (THR) technology. This also makes wired device connection technology applicable to surface mount (SMT) processes, thus enabling heavy duty electrical connectors to support complete continuity in SMT production.
