Visual Inspection Of The Cold-pressed Needle Crimping Parts Is Required.
After the contact crimper crimping operation is completed, visual inspection of the d sub contact crimper crimped terminals is a crucial step in identifying potential defects. By observing the terminal's appearance, one can determine if the conductor is fully inserted, if the insulation is correctly covered, if the crimp mark is centered, and if there is any loosening or deformation after crimping.
Visual Inspection Focus
-
Check the location of the crimp mark. The mark should be located in the center of the terminal (tubular portion), with approximately equal lengths of uncrimped areas on both sides. This helps determine if the correct crimping die was used and if the crimping action was uniform.
-
Observe whether the wire is fully exposed before being inserted into the terminal, and confirm that the conductor is clearly visible through the inspection hole. If the conductor is not visible, it indicates that the contact crimping tool crimping may not have been performed accurately.
-
After crimping, there should be no excess burrs, irregular cuts, or terminal deformation or tilting. There should also be no scratches, cracks, dents, or oxidation residue around the crimped area.
