At present, the mainstream press-fitting method for axles and wheels is crimp contact installation, and the crimp contact pin installation process has become a more commonly used press-fitting process due to its convenient operation and reliable quality.
1 Principle of wheel set contact socket crimp press-fit
First, place the axle horizontally, put the wheel on the axle, and under the action of contact socket crimp loading force, make the wheel move inward along the axial direction, and produce elastic-plastic deformation on the contact surface between the wheel and the axle. When the contact socket crimp loading force is greater than the friction between the contact surfaces, the axle and the hub hole surface will move relative to each other, thus achieving the purpose of contact socket crimp installation. The technical parameters of female crimp contact are as follows: surface roughness, wheel seat cylindricality, hub hole cylindricality, fit interference, press-fit speed, lubricating medium, etc.
