Why Can Diluted Alcohol Be Used To Clean Push-button Connectors?

Before cleaning begins, power should be disconnected and push fit terminal block connector should be removed from the system to avoid the risks of cleaning while the circuit is powered on. The contact surfaces of push connector block can be wiped with high-purity isopropyl alcohol (at least a 90% alcohol solution). Wiping the terminal areas with a lint-free cloth or cotton swab helps remove surface oil and light oxide layers. This solvent is recommended because it evaporates quickly and leaves no residue.
