Why Must No Copper Wire Be Exposed During Cold Press Needle Crimping?
When using crimping pin contact crimping tool for cable termination, exposed copper wires are generally not permitted. Exposed copper wires can lead to poor contact, reduced mechanical strength, and may even cause short circuits or unstable connections.
In the correct procedure, first strip the insulation of the wire to the appropriate length. Then, insert the entire conductor into the metal barrel of the crimping pin until the end of the conductor touches the stop point. Use specialized crimping pliers to press the barrel, causing the metal barrel to deform due to cold flow, firmly compressing and encasing all the copper wires inside. After crimping, check by tension or visual inspection to confirm that no single copper wire is exposed, and there are no loose or gaps. This crimping method conforms to general crimping specifications.
