Step One: Preparation and Selection

Step Two: Cable Preparation and Crimping

Note: Avoid damaging the metal wires of the inner conductor.

Step Three: Assembly
Component Installation:
Important: Before inserting the cable into the connector heavy duty housing, be sure to thread the back shell, sealing ring, clamping nut, and other components onto the cable in the correct order. This is the most common oversight!
Terminal Insertion:
Insert the crimped cables into the corresponding holes in the insulator according to the wiring diagram or markings inside the heavy duty 2 pin connector.
Ensure the terminals are fully inserted and locked into place; you will usually hear a "click." A small tool can be used to gently pull back to confirm that it is locked.
Locking and Sealing:
Sealing Rings: Ensure all O-rings and gaskets are in place, intact, and not twisted.
Cable Clamping: Tighten the clamping device on the back shell (usually a threaded or compression nut) to securely clamp the cable sheath. This is crucial for waterproofing and strain relief.
Housing Mating: Align the male and female connectors, usually with alignment marks or keyways to prevent incorrect insertion. Then rotate the connector housing (usually a threaded connection) until it is fully tightened. Do not overtighten to avoid damaging the threads or sealing rings.
Part Three: Post-Connection Inspection and Testing
Visual Inspection: Check that all components are properly installed, the sealing rings are not twisted, and the housing has no cracks.
Continuity Test (with power off): Use a multimeter's continuity setting to check the connectivity of each line and ensure there are no short circuits (adjacent pins should not be conductive).
Insulation Resistance Test (optional, but important for high-voltage applications): Use a megohmmeter to measure the insulation resistance between the conductor and the connector housing to ensure it meets specifications.
Grounding Continuity Test: If the connector has a grounding pin, ensure that the grounding path is good.
Part Four: Daily Use and Maintenance
Connecting and Disconnecting:
When connecting: Align the mating surfaces, gently push in, and then rotate evenly to tighten.
When disconnecting: Rotate directly to loosen; avoid pulling the cable directly to disconnect.
Regular Inspection:
Regularly inspect the connector housing for physical damage, cracks, or deformation.
Check if the sealing rings are aging, losing elasticity, or damaged, and replace them promptly if necessary. Check the ports for any signs of dust, moisture, or corrosion. If present, clean and dry them immediately.
Cleaning:
Wipe the casing with a soft cloth and a neutral cleaning agent.
Do not use corrosive chemical solvents (such as acetone, strong acids, or strong bases) for cleaning, as they will damage the plastic and seals.
Ensure the connector is completely dry before reconnecting it.
