The impact of gold plating solution aging and changes in alloy content in hard gold plating on heavy-duty connectors
Aging of the gold plating solution. If the gold plating solution is used on wire connector heavy duty for too long, the excessive accumulation of impurities in the plating solution on heavy duty electric cable connectors will inevitably lead to abnormal gold layer color.
Changes in the alloy content of the hard gold plating layer. To improve the hardness and wear resistance of heavy duty automotive electrical connectors, the gold plating process of heavy duty 12v connectors generally adopts a hard gold plating process. Gold-cobalt alloys and gold-nickel alloys are widely used. When the cobalt and nickel content changes, the color of the gold plating on the heavy duty 12 volt connectors also changes. If the cobalt content in the plating solution is too high, the gold plating on 12v heavy duty connector will appear reddish; if the nickel content in the plating solution is too high, the gold plating on heavy duty crimp connectors will appear lighter; when the differences are too large, and different parts of the same product are not plated in the same tank, the gold plating color of the same batch of products provided to the user will be different.
